About Us

DTIVP is located in Rapid City, South Dakota, the gateway to the Black Hills. Rich with folk lore and history from dinosaurs bones to motorcycle rallies, buffalo roundups and gold mining, this region offers a unique experience for visitors.

Most of our visitors are hosted in the Black Hills area and on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation.  The communities of Sioux Falls, Aberdeen and Pierre have also hosted visitors sponsored by DTIVP.

Our local, all volunteer council creates personalized programs and appointments to match the background and interests of our visitors including:

The International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP) is the U.S. Department of State’s premier professional exchange program. Through short-term visits to the United States, current and emerging foreign leaders experience the country firsthand and cultivate lasting relationships with their U.S. counterparts. Professional meetings reflect the participants’ professional interests and support the foreign policy goals of the United States. IVLP visits are organized by members of Global Ties U.S. DTIVP is the only Global Ties U.S. member in the State of South Dakota.
